 Ottawa Ukrainian Children`s Choir

Our choir, founded in 2023, is a non-profit organization led by newly arrived Ukrainian professional musicians and volunteers. We provide musical education to Ukrainian and Canadian families interested in Ukrainian music and choral singing.

OUCC consists of 30-50 children, many of whom are newcomers to Canada. We also gladly welcome Canadian children who are eager to join our artistic endeavor. Our sessions are conducted in both Ukrainian and English languages.

We nurture talented children through music, fostering creativity, and preserving Ukrainian culture. With the support of volunteers and professional musicians, we create a nurturing environment for families, offering comfort and a sense of belonging. On our website, you will find performances showcasing the incredible talents of these young musicians. Through comprehensive education, we cultivate their skills and contribute to their overall development. Our repertoire includes Ukrainian choral music, covers of contemporary popular vocal works, and masterpieces of world vocal art.

Our goal is to make a valuable contribution to satisfying the cultural needs of Ukrainian newcomers in Ottawa and to the development of music education and culture within the Canadian community as a whole.

Oleksii Fishchuk is a bass/baritone, as well as an exceptional children's choir conductor in Ottawa. He graduated from the National Music Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine, as a conductor and instructor. With a unique blend of talent and dedication, he nurtures young voices, shaping them into harmonious gems. His passion for Ukrainian music and culture shines through every performance, making him an invaluable mentor to these aspiring singers. Under his guidance, the choir continues to flourish, leaving a lasting impact on both the local and Ukrainian communities in Canada.
